Five Star Skills Academy

The Five Star Skills Academy is designed to take enthusiastic players to the next level by exposing them to an exciting, creative coaching environment focused purely on skill development.

The key to skill development in youth players is achieved by performing high repetitions of touches with increased amounts of intensity and pressures of the game.

Our unique five star awards system pushes players to practice hard on the training field as well as picking up a ball in the back yard.  Each player achieves a star every time they master a skill or technique.

This program is offered to every player aged U8-U14. The sessions are co-ed and each session is run by professional coaches from the New England Revolution Academy.

The most fundamental skill in soccer is individual mastery of the ball and the creativity that comes with it. This should be a priority in training and games, especially in the early years. As this skill is mastered, the rest of the game becomes easier.  Practices should be built around facilitating the development of the skills necessary to move and control the ball well. As these individual skills and the creativity to make them come alive in the game are developed to a level of competence, the finer points, first of passing skill and later of team organization can be taught.”
