BAYS Referees

Sudbury Youth Soccer Association BAYS League

1.    The Boston Area Youth Soccer (BAYS) League has games in the fall and spring seasons for players from age 9 to 18.  In the fall, SYSA pays all referees directly.  It does so every week, in arrears.  In the spring, BAYS pays all referees directly.  It does so usually every two weeks, in arrears.

2.    In order to get paid, each referee must:

a. Be enrolled at bays.org, have requested Sudbury as a town to referee in, and be approved
to be a Sudbury referee

b.  Have a game assigned to you

c.  Accept that game using the bays.org website

d.  Referee the game, and input the game report online at bays.org

e. The above holds for the fall and spring seasons – in effect, who pays your check has no
influence of how you accept and report game results

3.    Please note that any pay disputes for the spring season can be hard to adjudicate, and that SYSA does NOT take responsibility for issues that you may have with BAYS.  We will work with you to sort it out with BAYS, but we do not have power over BAYS’s pay decisions.  We do, however, have responsibility for payroll issues during the fall season.

4.    Your point person for all matters related to refereeing, payments, BAYS relations, and certification is Alfonso Canella (referees@sudburysoccer.org)
