Spring 2012 Coaching Course
SYSA will be offering G and F licensing courses this spring at The FieldHouse in Chiswick Park in Sudbury.
We will start our coach education classes with a G license followed by an F license.
We feel strongly that if you are a parent that is interested in coaching or are currently coaching teams in our BAYS program that you should attend. We also encourage our IM coaches to attend as they teach valuable skills to help coach younger players.

G Course is Full
The G Course ~ Date: Tuesday, April 24th
Time: 6pm-10pm
Mandatory to complete before taking another licensing course
Content:
• Beginning course for coaches
• Coaching organization and theory
• Helps you to become a more resourceful and confident “activity leader”
• Ideas about how to organize practices and game days
• Practical activities and stimulating games for practices
• Teaching and correcting dribbling, passing, and shooting techniques
• Ideas on parent education and learning theory
• Characteristics of U6 to U8 players
Prerequisites:
• Must be at least 14 years of age
Materials to bring to the course:
• Soccer ball
• Water
• Appropriate clothing (dress to participate)
• Paper and writing utensil
Given out at the course:
• Zipper Bag containing the Mass Youth Soccer G Manual (CD)
• Coaching program shirt
The F Course ~ Date: Tuesday, May 1st and Thursday, May 3rd
Time: 6pm-10pm
Content:
• For novice coaches or those having some experience with U8, U10 and U12 teams
• Ideas about how to organize practices and game days
• Technically and tactically appropriate for U10 and U12 players
• Games and exercises for practices
• More thorough demonstration of basic technique
• Elementary goalkeeping techniques
• Basic tactical ideas
• Characteristics of U10 and U12 players
• Gender differences and ethics
Prerequisites:
• G License MANDATORY
• Must be at least 16 years of age
Materials to bring to the course:
• Soccer ball
• Water
• Appropriate clothing (dress to participate)
• Paper and writing utensil
Given out at the course:
• Mass Youth Soccer F Manual (CD)
• Coaching program shirt
