13th Annual BAYS Presidents Cup - Spring 2014

Registration is now open for the BAYS Presidents Cup. Any team in U12 or U14 Division 3 or U11 Divisions 2 or 3 is eligible. Team registration is $25. BAYS will award a cup to the coach and a special commemorative to each of the players in the finals. This is an excellent opportunity for some additional games, tournament play and fun during the season. The cup competition is modeled after the English FA Cup (single elimination, blind draw) and is played in addition to the regular season schedule.  Registration ends April 26th!

Revolution Time at Haskell and Gillette

The Revolution are coming to Sudbury.  On Sunday May 4th from 2-4 pm, a Revs player will be playing with our U8 players.  This is a great time for all our SYSA players to come and meet a member of the team.

SYSA will also host a night at the Revolution on Sunday, June 8th.  The game is against the New York Red Bulls and starts at 5 pm.  There will be an opportunity to play in the Dana Farbet Field House before the game as well.  Start making plans with your team for an end of the year bash with the Revs.

Hang out with the Boston Breakers

There are two opportunities to get close to the Boston Breakers this Spring.  The first is to meet a Breakers player at Haskell Field on Friday May 9th from 4:30-6 pm.  The Breakers are excited to be a part of our SSL and U10 girls group night.

The second is to go with your whole team, and family, and friends to SYSA Night at Breakers on Sunday May 18th.  The game against the Chicago Red Stars starts at 6:30 pm at Harvard Statidum.  Ticket ordering info will be available soon, but save the date and start making your plans now.

Learn more about the SSL and BAYS Leagues

Beginning in kindergarten and all the way through high school, Sudbury Youth Soccer is focused on developing our young player’s skills and understanding of the game in an environment that promotes a love for soccer.

This development continues in 3rd and 4th grade and for the first time, players have the opportunity to play in one of two different leagues.

These two leagues are called:
I. Sudbury Soccer League - (SSL)

II. Boston Area Youth Soccer League – (BAYS)

New and Improved Coaching Manuals

In a continuous effort to improve the coaching manuals, our technical director, Ross Duncan has spent the winter creating animations for each of the exercises.  Previously you had a static image to guide you.  As a sneak peak, check out the animations in CoachFX by clicking here.  All the Coaching Guides are published here.

Plan your Summer Vacation Soccer Now

The Revolution Academy is one of the most innovative youth training programs in Major League Soccer, recognized by U.S. Soccer as one of the top 10 youth development programs in the country.  The Revolution Academy trains players of all abilities in every aspect of the game, including ball mastery, speed of play, coordination and balance and movement with and without the ball.

The objective of the training programs is to replicate the speed, tempo and environment of the Revolution Youth Teams’ training sessions.  Through the age-appropriate coaching, we foster an atmosphere that is competitive, challenging, demanding and fun.  Encouragement and support from our professional coaches allows every player to gain a better understanding of – and continued passion for – the game.
