COACHING POINTS

WARM UP
0-10 minutes

1000 Touches – 20x20 yard area
This warm-up will be consistent throughout the ages and will work on close control.

EXERCISE ONE
10-20 minutes

 

In 2’s 8 yards away from each other, 

Players will work 2 balls at the same time, one player will loft the pass to their team mate, 1 will pass along the ground.

Use inside of foot to pass along ground, use lace to loft ball, judge the distance of partner, correct weight of pass!

EXERCISE TWO
20-30 minutes

 

3v3 – 20 x 20 yard box, 3 balls at either teams side

Teams must knock off the opponents balls to win,

Use inside of foot to pass along ground, use lace to loft ball, judge the distance of partner, correct weight of pass!

EXERCISE THREE
30-40 minutes

Re-lay in 4’s – 2 players at either  side, player 1 must dribble as fast as he can to the other end and player 2 will dribble back to player 3 and 3 dribbles to player 4 and 4 finishes the movement.

EXERCISE FOUR
40-50 minutes

 King of the Ring – 10x10 grid

Players each have a ball, they must successfully control their ball, dribble around and kick other players balls out the area, if ball is kicked out players must perform 3 keepy-ups

BEDDING DOWN
50-60 minutes

 

Width – 16x12 yard area, 3v2, attackers must dribble through defenders line

GAME RELATED PRACTICE
60-75 minutes

3v3 with a wall player on each side = 5v3.  Teams must play the ball wide for a wall player to play a cross into the box

SMALL SIDED GAMES -- 4v4
75-85 minutes

4v4 Small Sided Field - 35 x 22 yards (24 = 10 yards either side of a 2 yard goal)

Ensure team is still working at a high tempo.

Re-enforce sessions points, don’t lose focus of group

COOL DOWN
85-90 minutes

Relaxing Movement + recap session

Slow + gentle movements
