In Memory of James W Brine II

In August, our community lost one of its most devoted members and a tremendous supporter with the passing of Jim Brine, owner of Brine’s Sporting Goods Sudbury and Concord Mass. and life long resident of Burlington.

Jim was truly one of kind with his indomitable spirit, driving energy, and limitless faith. He gave so much of his time and energy to his community, family, friends and church as well as many other affiliations.

Jim's unwavering devotion to local youth sports programs was incredible. He gave a tremendous amount of time and effort to each association every season. His love of children's learning and play, combined with his passion for all sports, are part of Jim's enduring legacy.

To keep his memory alive, Jim's family and friends, have established the JW Brine, III Foundation, so that his tradition of giving will not be forgotten and continue. Jim was a true believer in "Giving" and the foundation will support that legacy.

Our plans for the foundation are to give back within all of the towns he touched through Brine’s Sporting Goods in Sudbury, as well as his hometown of Burlington. Donations received will allow for scholarships to be given to deserving student(s) in these towns beginning in 2013. Additionally, other organizations including (but not limited to) the Exceptional Children’s Foundation and MGH, which were close to Jim and his family, will also receive support from the foundation. We also plan to give to families and individuals as the needs arise.

Please consider making a tax-deductible contribution to the JW Brine, III Foundation either through your own association or via an individual donation in Jim’s memory.

Donations can be made to: JW Brine, III Foundation PO Box 255, Burlington, MA 01803. Contributions will be acknowledged with a receipt from JW Brine, III Foundation, a 501(c) public charity.

The first fundraising event will be a Texas Hold'em Poker Night on March 9th.  Learn more about the event by clicking here

Please visit our web site to see other upcoming events and more information about this foundation and what we are doing with the funds raised.
