Jonathan Pereira

I am a native of Barrington RI, and grew up playing on various soccer organizations throughout the state, including Northern Lightning, RI Stingrays Super Y-League, and Mid State United F.C.  I attended LaSalle Academy where I was a varsity letter winner four years and a starter for three years winning three State Championships.  I was elected All-State two years and All-Region my senior year.  During High School I was a part of the Region 1 team for two years.  After high school I continued both my education and playing career at the University of Rhode Island from 2007-2011.  Entering my freshman year at URI I was elected to the A-10 pre-season all rookie team. During my time at URI I was able to participate in the A-10 postseason tournament three of my four years. Every summer throughout college I played in the Premiere Development League of the United Soccer League for the Rhode Island Stingrays.

While attending URI I began my coaching career working for the Rhode Island Stingrays Soccer Camps each summer working with ages ranging from 6-17 years old.  As a coach with the LaSalle Academy I ran the pre season training and fitness program for 4 years in preparation for their fall season.  The LaSalle Academy was able to make it to the playoffs for their 13th year in a row and as an assistant coach I worked with the team leading all fitness and technical training.

I began working with the New England Revolution Academy in the summer of 2011. I have been part of the summer programs working with both academy teams and summer academies. I have worked training sessions with academy teams, RTC training sessions and open tryouts. I also worked the summer academy programs and Team Training Academy training individuals and teams using the Academy coaching methodology. As part of my internship with URI I spent time with both the Revolution first team and Academy teams viewing sessions and helping with fitness sessions for the academy squads.
