Coaching younger players

Ross Duncan, Sudbury Soccer's director of coaching, has written a guide to working with younger players, particularly the kindergarteners and first graders who make up U6 and U7 teams.

The booklet, called "Working with Beginners," is intended to help volunteers who are new to coaching, or new to coaching younger players. It includes tips on organizing sessions and making them fun. It also includes an eight-week skills development program specifically for U6 and U7 players that will be useful to new and experienced coaches alike.

Topics covered include: Understanding beginners, the role of a coach, goal setting, running a session, and hints and tips.
